The Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon 2023: An Active and Historical Experience!
Participate in a Marathon unlike any other by joining the worldwide racing event at the Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon, where history and athleticism collide. The iconic Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon is an annual sports event organized by The TriFactory. The destination of the annual marathon is the Giza Pyramids, where runners race through decades of history. It usually takes place in the early morning around 7:00 am, drawing participants to run against the famous ancient pyramids of Giza. The marathon provides a wide range of distances for runners of all skill levels, ranging from an exciting 5k fun run to a tricky 10k race and ending with the ultimate fitness test, the 21k half marathon.
The Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon has a strict cut-off time to keep up an optimal level of competition for each distance; both the 10k and 21k have a cut-off time of 10:00 am, which means that runners have three hours to finish the race.
The MyLaps Timing System, which is a technology for measuring performance in sports events, will be used to track the 10k and 21k marathoners.
At the Awards Ceremony, the top three males and top three females in each age category will get special medals, while the top three males and three females in each distance will receive special prizes as the overall champions.

Half Marathon
The top three men’s half-marathon champions were all Egyptians. The overall times were 01:21:02 for Ali Alaa, 01:22:00 for Sayed Mohamed, and 01:22:49 for Amir Shawki.
The three female half marathon winners were:
- Italian Anna Medeossi, in 01:34:35
- Egyptian Noha Abouzeid, in 01:34:42
- Turkish Ipek Onaran, in 01:35:11
Marakez Pyramids half marathon 10K
The top three male 10K winners were all Egyptians as well. After finishing in 00:34:52 for Mo’tassem Mo’taz, 00:35:02 for Khaled Mahmoud, and 00:35:09 for Mohamed Salem Sayed Mostafa
The first three female 10k race winners, Rana Saleh (00:42:04), Rahma Ahmed (00:42:15), and Lena Mohamed Rabie (00:42:34), were all Egyptians.
The History of the Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon
Since 2019, the Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon has been going strong for 5 years straight.
