Cairo Marathon 2023 Race
The annual Cairo Marathon 2023 will hit the streets of Cairo on March 10th, with over 7,000 participants, maintaining its status as the largest sports event to take place on Egyptian streets.
The Cairo Marathon initiative is a deliberate collaboration between Cairo Runners, the first and largest trend-setter of communities running Cairo’s city streets, and I-events, Egypt’s leading event management company, with the sole purpose of bringing CHANGE.
It is a movement that advocates for a kinder community, one that encourages community and a more human approach to social and mental health issues.

THE RUNNING:
This is an invitation to runners from all over Egypt and the world to come together on March 10th in Cairo’s city streets to celebrate their love and passion for running and unite for a good cause.
Cairo Marathon provides a range of routes to guarantee that people from all walks of life can participate.
DISTANCES:
- Half marathon distance of 21 kilometers.
- 10KM Run. (Time Management & Ranking)
- Fun Run of 5 kilometers. (Time Management & Ranking)
- Run as a family.
Don’t forget to stay after the race since there will be an AFTER PARTY!
Cairo Marathon 2023 registration
This year, the marathon registration tickets are divided into two stages with two alternative pricing structures;
Early Bird ticket sales will end on January 30, 2023. Normal ticket sales will finish on February 27th, 2023.
Cairo Marathon 2023 ticket rules
- Except in the case of a government declaration and/or the event being postponed or cancelled, tickets are non-refundable.
- The website’s ticket prices do not include 14% VAT.
- Following the purchase of your ticket: changing race distance is only accessible until February 5th, 2023. Downgrading from full to basic is not permitted, and upgrading from basic to full is only permitted if race bags and t-shirts are available.
- Your race ticket should only be picked up during hub days; no tickets will be delivered on race day. Tickets cannot be sold or transferred
- The Family Run tickets include: a race bag, a t-shirt, 2x finisher medals, and 2x race numbers for one adult and one child under the age of ten; children over the age of ten must purchase a separate ticket.
How to Get Your Cairo marathon 2023 kit!
The Hub:
- The Hub is a 5-day pre-marathon expo where all participants will attend motivational presentations, mental health seminars, and fun activities to build excitement.
- Each participant will be given a registration kit with a QR code.
- The kit components will be determined by the type of ticket chosen as described above.
- All kits must be picked up at the hub because they will not be accessible for pickup on race day and will not be sent to/delivered at any other time.
- The Hub will be hosted from March 3rd to March 7th, 2023 – the exact site will be confirmed later.

Cairo Runners is Cairo’s first street running program, offering an amazing mini-marathon experience every Friday morning.
It all began with a simple wish to sprint around the streets of Cairo. It seemed impossible at first; with pollution, traffic, and a lack of a well-equipped running environment, Ibrahim Safwat, our founder, determined not to give up and instead decided to establish something beautiful. Having an ambition of changing Egyptians’ lifestyles to a healthier ones where people would hit the streets of Cairo and exercise, which was never a familiar concept previously.
