Exploring Historic Jeddah: The Route of the Half Marathon

The 21.1-kilometer route was held on the 2nd of March 2024, organized by Jeddah Historic District, and led participants past well-known sites including Al-Matbouli Museum, which provides an insight into the rich cultural legacy of the city, and Nassif House, which displays traditional Hijazi architecture.
While admiring the beautiful Al-Juffali Mosque, an exquisite example of Islamic architecture, and then head to the King Fahd Fountain, a representation of the life and vibrancy of Jeddah.
A 10 km run for participants 12 years of age and up was one of the other Jeddah Historic Half Marathon races that drew passionate runners of all ages, including kids and senior citizens.
There was also a one kilometer walk that was available to everyone, including those with disabilities.
As racers go to the finish line in Bad Jadid, where they will be met with screams and celebrations, the busy Jeddah Corniche will provide a stunning background.

Anouar El Ghouz from Morocco won the first prize worth of 18,000 SAR, finishing the 21km route in 1 hour and 6 minutes.
Tips and Tricks to make marathons easier:
- Run Empty Handed: No matter how tiny it is, leaving it as the race begins relieves tension and you’ll feel a lot better if you’re not carrying anything.
- Have a shot of Energy Gel: It will take a few minutes for this to increase your energy levels.
- Wake up a few hours prior to the race: Missing out on your morning routines before the race will affect you tremendously. You can benefit greatly by waking up at least three hours before the race to have breakfast, warm up, light jogging etc…
