Dubai Marathon 2025 pulses with the energy of champions and invites you to test your limits in the vibrant streets of Dubai.
The Dubai Marathon is one of the major running competitions in the Middle East.
This annual Dubai Marathon is sponsored and organized by the Dubai Sports Council, categorized as a Gold Label World Race by World Athletics, and will start on the 12th of January 2025.
The race is held amidst the breathtaking background of Dubai.
The Dubai Marathon 42km route will begin on the Umm Suqeim Road and conclude before the Dubai Police Academy.
A 10km road race and a 4km fun run are also available.

The History of the Dubai Marathon
The first ever Dubai Marathon took place on the 27th of November 1998. Out of the 150 runners that participated, only 48 completed the race, The marathon began outside the Al Wasl Club and finished inside the Al Wasl Stadium.
The first male winner of the Dubai Marathon was Wilson Kibet of Kenya, who finished the 42-kilometer marathon in 2:12:21 on January 14, 2000, and the first female winner was Ramilya Burangulova of Russia, who finished in 2:40:22.

General Information:
T/Shirts, Medals, and Certificates – All marathon participants will receive an official race t/shirt, a finishers medal, and downloadable finishers certificate.
10km Road Race – All 10km participants will receive an official race t/shirt, a finishers medal, and downloadable finishers certificate.
4km Road Race – All 4km participants will receive an official race t/shirt, a finishers medal and downloadable participation certificate.
Race Day Temperature – The temperature will be approximately 10-15 degrees Celcius at the start.
Drink Stations –Water Stations will be provided every 2.5km from 5km to 40km and at the finish.
- 10km Road Race – Water Stations will be provided at the 3km, 8km point and at the finish.
- 4km Fun Run – Water Stations will be provided at the finish.
Toilets – Toilets will be provided after the following stations on the Marathon route: 5km, 10km, 15km, 20km, 25km, 30km, 35km, 40km and at the finish.
Medical – An Ambulance and medical station will be available approximately 200 meters after each main drink station on the Marathon route at 5km, 10km, 15km, 20km, 25km, 30km, 35km, 40km and at the finish. Medics will also be present at every intermediary station.
Tips to help you perform better in the Dubai Marathon!
- Enjoy the Benefits of rest days: You risk overtraining without rest days. Maintain at least one or two rest days a week, use your rest days properly (example: stretching or yoga).
- Warming Up: To gain more stamina and a lower chance of injury, make sure to finish a vigorous warm up that includes strong movement to fire up your muscles before each run.
- Mistakes in a marathon: Don’t ever start too fast, you should increase your pace and energy as you approach the finish line and finish the race quicker in the second half than the first.
- Keep Hydrated: Dehydration can cause cramps and weariness, and on very hot days, it might cause heat exhaustion and cause you to lose the race.
